29er's

29er bikes run on 29 inch wheels – that’s a 700c rim (common road size), fitted with big tyres and built to take a hammering. The resulting wheel is about 29in in outside diameter. Advantages include better traction and stability – especially but not exclusively for taller riders. Rapidly gaining popularity on the XC circuit due to their smooth riding and rough terrain handling often without the need for suspension forks.
